Upon arrival at the Cuyabeno bridge, your guide will meet you and transport you by motorized canoe to our Lodge. After an initial rest, we will have a hike in the afternoon on the Ceibo trail, which will take us 2 to 3 hours. Our guide will explain everything there is to know about all the flora and fauna we can find in the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve. After our hike, we will head back to the lodge and have lunch. And, if you’re still up to it, we can have a nocturnal canoe ride in the river surrounding the camp area. We will have dinner at approximately 7 pm. Overnight spent at Cuyabeno River Lodge. Discovering Cuyabeno
After breakfast, we will get on our canoe for a long ride up the Cuyabeno river, where we can see a lot of exotic birds that can only be seen in the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve. We will continue up river until we get to Laguna Grande, which harbours some really interesting animals, such as Pink and Grey Dolphins, Giant River Turtles and the elusive Anaconda. We’ll find a good place to eat lunch and will rest for a bit. Then we’ll continue our journey through the Cuyabeno river, until we arrive to the Siona Community, where we can see their customs and experience their ways of making food, such as the Yuca bread or Casabe.
This whole trip will take us all day, so we will be arriving back to our camp at about 6 pm, right on time for dinner, and a well deserved rest.
On day three, after breakfast, we will explore one last trail, with new opportunities to see different vegetation and animals before eating lunch and taking the early evening direct bus (6:30 pm) to Quito or Lago Agrio Airport at time.
